Meditation IV is a limited edition print of an original painting on canvas depicting a pristine landscape with clear depths. Inspired by my pilgrimages to Arunachala, the sacred Shiva mountain in Tamil Nadu, India, there is a sense of the purity and refinement of the land untouched by human contact.

Richly painted with layers of raw umber, sienna and yellow ochre, the gradations of tonal colour , which can be related to layers of consciousness, provide a view into and of the Earth, from above and within.

This colourfield paintings in the Meditation series have a zen-like quality and can be seen as spiritual landscapes.
