This painting is inspired by the journeys we take in life and the sense of excitement I feel when travelling.  (Afterall, half the fun is getting there!)  I made this painting on the Greek island of Skopelos at an artist residency studio perched on the top of a hill overlooking the harbour. Every day, at lunch time, I would sit and watch the 1pm ferry setting out for the neighbouring island of Alonissos. The squashed ‘C’ shape is a nod to the swoosh of the ferry’s wake as it rounded the headland – and has became a motif that appeared in my work at this time.
