Richard Diebenkorn’s 'Notes to myself on beginning a painting' were found among his papers after his death in 1993. They offer a remarkable insight into his artistic process and the rigour with which he approached his search for abstraction. They’ve also been influential in guiding my own painting practice.

The culmination of a year long mentoring course at the Newlyn School of Art, Trudy Montgomery’s abstract paintings are on display in the 2016 graduate exhibition at PZ Gallery in Penzance, Cornwall. The exhibition includes her large scale canvas Threshold and work by 15 other local and international artists enrolled in the programme.
